Anna Moiseeva, a researcher at IL LogLinFF, made a presentation on the topic of "How We Create and Identify Fictitious Objects" at the theoretical seminar "Formal Philosophy" on June 21.
The talk was devoted to the semantics of reasoning about fictions, in particular, the ontology of functional objects and the problem of formulating conditions for the truth of statements about them. The talk examined the general foundations of the positions of abstractionism and creationism regarding fictitious objects, showed the difficulties faced by each of these approaches, and proposed a realistic interpretation of fictitious objects as psychologically dependent types based on the theory of E. Terone. The talk was followed by a discussion on the possible formalization of this approach and its application to modal statements about fictions.
