Egor Emelyanov gave a talk at the workshop "From the Logical Point of View"

On May 24, a session of the scientific research workshop "From the Logical Point of View" took place where the intern researcher IL LogLinFF Egor Emelyanov made a presentation on the topic of "A Simple Argument: Are the Conditions of Correct Use Sufficient for the Normativity of Linguistic Meaning?"

Egor Emelyanov gave a talk at the workshop "From the Logical Point of View"

Abstract

As a part of the talk, it is planned to review the current state of the controversy around the concept of normativity in the field of linguistic meaning. Special attention will be paid to the strategy of substantiating normativity as a necessary consequence of the deterministic meaning of expressions (meaning engendered normativity) and a review of the controversy surrounding the so-called "simple argument" in favor of this position where normativism of meaning necessarily follows from the presence of meaningful expressions of the conditions of correctness of use.
